Brand your Company

Branding is a fundamental step in your marketing strategy. It is the process of identifying your company with a name so that you can differentiate it from your competitors. However, there is a lot more to it than just a name. You may choose any name, design, tag line or logo but would it make a strong impression on your targeted consumers? The thing to keep in mind is that the whole process should be done so that your brand reflects who you truly are along with your core strengths. This approach implies that you know all about your products & services, that you have a deep knowledge of your USP, your price, your benefits and of the competitive environment.

The problem is that whenever you start pondering over branding your company, you will probably come across quite a few pressing issues, and these can often distort your vision. Many a times, people end up in creating a brand that is just a very catchy name, but does not reflect the mission of the company. This may lead to business development and growth, but in the long run,the organization will probably plunge. So before you create a brand for yourself, you must evaluate your position.

Assume that you want to brand a financial organization. Brand names like Express Loans, Jet Loans or Light Speed Loans are good choices but they all personify speed. But can you determine if it really is your strength or not?If your strength lies in your customer services department or your low rates…then the above mentioned names will not be good enough, because they do not reflect the factors which set you apart from your competitors. This type of branding just disconnects your corporate identity from your core areas.

You can start the branding process by identifying all those factors which make you different, and at which you are truly an expert. Then use these attributes to think of suitable brand names for your company. The chosen name should be such that it attracts more people, and improves your position in the market. Then you can develop a complete brand image of your company which includes tag lines, message and design…
